Scriven Foundation To Match

Donations To Coop Food Bank

COOPERSTOWN – During the months of November and December, the Scriven Foundation will match donations made to the Cooperstown Food Pantry up to a total of $7,500.

Donations can be made online at cooperstownfoodpantry.org, or sent to the Food Pantry at 25 Church St., Cooperstown NY 13326. Checks may be made out to Cooperstown Food Pantry.

The Food Pantry is a member of Feeding America, the largest hunger relief organization in the country. About 90 percent of what the Food Pantry distributes is purchased through the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham.

“For every dollar we spend at the regional food bank,” says Food Pantry Director Stacey Smith, “we receive about $10 worth of food. We appreciate the generosity of the Scriven Foundation and all those who donate and support the Food Pantry.”

The Cooperstown Food Pantry provides emergency food assistance to families in northern Otsego County. Each month, the Food Pantry assists about 220 families representing 800-900 people. The Food Pantry, located at 25 Church Street in Cooperstown, is open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, and on Saturdays from 10 am to noon. For more information, call the Food Pantry at 607/547-8902.
