Seward Vows ‘Aggressive Defense’
Vs. Cuomo’s $15 Minimum Wage
State Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, vowed an “aggressive defense” against Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal for a $15 minimum wage, a piece of the budget deliberations now underway in Albany. He told 75 Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce members this morning in the Baseball Hall of Fame’s Grandstand Theater that the issue should be removed form the budget process and its impacts fully studied and understood before moving forward. Audience members in the front row include, from left, Cooperstown Supt. of Schools C.J. Hebert, Otsego Chamber President Barbara Ann Heegan, Hartwick Vice President/College Advancement Greg Fort, and Hartwick President Margaret Drugovich. In the second row, from left, are Bieritz Insurance’s Ben Novellano, Principal Financial Group’s Jason Tabor, Hubbell Real Estate’s Joanne Hubbell (partially hidden), Doubleday Drivers’ Jim Donley and Scott Barton of Lake N Pines Motel. Behind them are, from left, Hyde Hall Executive Director Jon Maney, Ommegang Director of Communications Allison Capozza, and Chris Powell, Glimmerglass Opera director of administration.
