WEST ONEONTA HOME RAIDED

Shelter Tending

36 Rescued Cats

These two cats, in a cage on a feces-covered floor in a West Oneonta home, were among 36 rescued last Thursday and Friday now being tended at the Susquehanna Animal Shelter in Hartwick Seminary. Today, Shelter Director Stacie Haynes wrote an $1,800 check for medications alone for the animals, most of whom are facing at least respiratory problems. The West Oneonta Volunteer Fire Department conducted a drive over the weekend for supplies to tend the cats, but the shelter issued a call for emergency donations to help meet the crisis. Donations may be made via PayPal, or checks may be sent to SAS, 4841 NY-28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
