Police: Man Broke Into Home,

Took Elderly Woman’s Meds

UNADILLA – A Unadilla man was arrested after an elderly woman reported he broke into her house, shoved her and stole her perscription medication, sheriff’s deputies report.

Robert Colvin, 32, was arrested and charged after the victim told a family member that earlier that day, she home alone when she heard loud banging on her door, the report said.

When she opened the door, Colvin, who was unknown to her, allegedly forced his way into her residence by pushing her backwards; he then forced the victim into the kitchen, deputies said.

Once in the kitchen, according to the report, the suspect demanded the victim to give him her prescription medication, the victim who feared for her safety complied and did turn over medication to the suspect who then fled the residence.

Deputies arrested Colvin on charges of robbery, third degree, a Class D felony, and grand larceny, fourth degree, a Class E felony

Colvin was arraigned in the Town of Unadilla Court by Judge Geer and sent to the county jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
