SMALL AIRPLANE CRASHES

NEAR WESTVILLE AIRPORT

A single-engine Piper crashed into a shed owned by Bill Light across Route 166 from the Cooperstown/Westville Airport about 8 p.m. Monday. The plane belonged to Frank Toth, the contractor. There was a second person and a dog in the craft as well, Light said. The plane, traveling from the northeast north of the airport, came over the tree line, hit the lawn next to 166, lost a wheel, then skidded toward the shed. A wing struck the shed, slowing down the aircraft. Light said neither Toth or the others appeared to be injured. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)

After all, what’s next? Should we then ban oil tankers? Suburban Propane delivery trucks? Dump trucks, where pebbles might from time to time slip out from under the tarps? Loud motorcycles? Model Ts and…
