At Doubleday Field

Cooperstown Mayor (and Rotarian) Jeff Katz cuts the ribbon a few minutes ago at the entrance to the Doubleday Field Parking Lot, signaling the beginning of the club’s Spring Fling, expanded this year into a two-day event. Some 60 vendors are selling goodies, crafts and specialty items through 5 p.m., with entertainment on the hour, beginning right now with the Z Man in the entertainment tent. Tomorrow, a live auction begins at 1 p.m. in the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market building. (Preview begins at 11). A Sunday dinner, featuring stuffed baked potatoes, is 4-7 in the Doubleday lot, followed by an ecumenical sunset prayer service at 7:30 p.m in Lakefront Park.
