Springbrook Wins $575,000 State Grant

MILFORD CENTER – Springbrook announced today it has received $575,193 from the state Office for People With Developmental Disabilities to move three of its initiatives forward.

“These three important initiatives will touch the lives of hundreds of local individuals and families, increasing their access to and choices for quality services,” said Springbrook CEO Patricia Kennedy.

The first initiative will create a Rural Support System (RSS) for families and service providers, replacing paper-based tracking systems.  It will integrate reporting, timekeeping, online training, and billing, reducing administrative costs.  This will allow Springbrook to serve as many as 450 new clients who lack access under current protocols.

The second initiative is formation of an Employment Services Consortium of local businesses and service providers to expand employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

The third will enhance Springbrook’s Alternative Living Services program.

“Each of the projects this funding will support was a part of Springbrook’s long-term strategic plan and are replicable models for organizations across New York State,” said Kennedy. “This is an amazing opportunity not only for Springbrook, but for our community partners, to stand out as state-wide leaders in support of individuals with special needs.”
