SweetFrog Frozen Yogurt
I went to SweetFrog Frozen Yogurt recently while doing errands. There were a variety of flavors of frozen yogurt available for self-serve, including mango and cookies and cream.
I chose to get a mix of cookies and cream and cake batter. Then I added brownie bites, mini MnMs, hot fudge and gummy bears, to cookies, sprinkles and caramel. I literally cannot fit how many options there were into this review. Definitely a place to check out when in Oneonta.

The Otesaga Resort Hotel
We had the pleasure of dining with friends over the weekend at the Hawkeye Bar and Grill at The Otesaga. The views from the patio are breathtaking; you’re only separated from the water by lush, rolling grass. My dinner was a “create your own” dinner and I chose the crab cakes with herb-roasted fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus.
We all topped the meal off with crème brulée. It was perfectly crispy on the top.
Everything about the evening, the company, the food and the stellar service, was a success.

Spurbeck’s Grocery
This homey little grocery has been a neighbor of The Freeman’s Journal for many years, and it has been my go-to place for lunch ever since I moved here.
They serve cold sandwiches throughout the day, but it’s really the specials that you have to keep an eye out for. They have lamb gyros, hot dogs with chili cheese and, perhaps my favorite, barbecue pork paninis. The staff is also extremely friendly and more than happy to make whatever you want. I recommend the trip up the hill to Railroad Avenue!

Staff Picks Our Best Bets for local dining Delicious pasta, salad with salmon and a great view Larissa Ryan, Business Manager Lakefront Restaurant Dine by the lake in style at the Lakefront Restaurant. It’s a wonderful spot for lunch or evening dining, and it has some great views of the lake. How could it not, the name says it all. They offer a variety of seafood, including lobster and trout. However, I, being something of a creature of habit, went for a pasta dish. This time I chose the Chicken Breast Florentine Fettucini which came with a side of seasonal…
