Stuligross: Meet In Evening
So More Can Run For Office
ONEONTA – Many people are unable to run for the Otsego County Board of Representatives because it meets at 10 a.m. in the middle of the work week.
County Rep. Kay Stuligross, D-Oneonta, hopes to do something about it: She is introducing a resolution at Wednesday’s county board reorganizational meeting to change the monthly meeting to sometime between 5-7 in the evening, so people who work 9-5 can participate.
The veteran representative said 26 counties in New York State, half the total, already have scheduled their monthly meetings in the evening.
