IN MEMORIAM: Suzanne E. Lundin, 65;
Active In Family’s Christmas Tree Farm
OTEGO – Suzanne E. Lundin, 65, a retired telephone operator active in her family’s Lundin Christmas Tree Farm, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2019.
She was born on July 29, 1953, in Johnson City; the daughter of John James Zdimal and LaVonne (McCrossen).
Sue was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School. Sue was a natural athlete enjoying basketball, tennis, softball, bowling, golf and pickleball.
She married George Lundin on Sept. 30, 1978, at Boulevard Methodist Church in Binghamton. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She successfully raised three boys and a husband.
Sue was a directory assistance operator for New York Telephone and retired from Verizon in 2010. She was an active member of Lundin Christmas Trees family operation, a member of the Otego Presbyterian Church, past president of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a member of the Susquehanna Valley Quilters.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Sue is survived by her husband, George; her sons Timothy and his wife, Allison; Eric and his wife, Maggie; and Jeffrey and his wife, Marcia; grandchildren Avery, Sophie, Ellie, Jane and Henry; mother in law, Carol; sister Joanna (Rodger) Merrit; sister Bonnie (Rick) Hrebin; brother John (Debbie) Zdimal; brother Jim Zdimal; sister in law Carol (John) Gavin; several nieces and nephews; and many friends in the community.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and LaVonne Zdimal and grandson Robert George Lundin.
Calling hours will be Monday, March 18 from 5pm-7pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Home, 21 Main Street, Sidney. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19 at 3pm at Otego Presbyterian Church, 16 River St. Otego with reception to follow.
