Foothills Remembers Benefactor Gene Bettiol Recognized As Distinguished Citizen Foothills Performing Arts Center this evening recognized its benefactor, Gene Bettiol, who passed away last Dec. 2, as its Distinguished Citizen of The Year. Friends, Family Honor Gene Bettiol’s Legacy Mourners filled Foothills’ Bettiol Theater Sunday to say goodbye to Eugene A. Bettiol, Sr., the foremost developer of Southside, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, at age 85. Speakers included state Sen.
