IN MEMORIAM: Janet F. Benavides, 78; Hartwick Graduate Missionary In Texas ONEONTA – Janet Phyllis Fleischer Benavides, 78, a former missionary in Texas, died Aug. 30, 2016, at the Fox Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 6, 1938, in The Bronx, the daughter of the late Philip and Frieda (Peck) Fleischer. Janet graduated from Hartwick College, majoring in Christian education and Spanish.
