IN MEMORIAM:  Matthew Majewski, 99; Dairy Farmer Retired To Cooperstown COOPERSTOWN – Matthew Majewski, 99, who retired to Cooperstown from his Jordanville dairy farm, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Bassett Hospital. He was born on Oct. 6, 1916, in Ludz, Poland.  During World War II, he traveled to Germany, then Belgium, where he was a coal miner, then to the United States.
