IN MEMORIAM: Virginia Polley, 97; Oneonta Surgeons’ Office Manager ONEONTA – Virginia Caquelard Polley, whose husband was a surgeon locally for 30 years,  died peacefully on Oct. 14, 2018, in Centralia, Wash., home of her daughter Jennifer Polley. Tree of Life Remembrances In Oneonta, Cooperstown A service in Oneonta and vigil in Cooperstown are planned in response to Saturday’s shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in suburban Pittsburgh. Foothills Remembers Benefactor Gene Bettiol Recognized As Distinguished Citizen Foothills Performing Arts Center this evening recognized its benefactor, Gene Bettiol, who passed away last Dec. 2, as its Distinguished Citizen of The Year.
