Troop C Veteran Barnes Promoted To Commander Major Faughnan Joins Internal Affairs ONEONTA – State Police Capt. James E. Barnes today was promoted to the rank of major and assigned to command Troop C, headquartered at Sidney and covering a seven-county region that includes Otsego and the Oneonta Barracks. Accident Victim Was Morris Man

Accident Victim Was Morris Man ONEONTA – Oneonta state troopers have identified Guillermo J. Soto, 50, of Morris, as the driver killed in the fatal car accident in the Town of Pittsfield on Saturday morning. According to a press release, Soto had been driving his 2000 Daewoo Lanos northbound on the roadway when he lost control, for an unknown reason, and struck a tree on the west shoulder.  He was found deceased in the driver’s seat with his seat belt on.…
