Two Arrested For Stealing
From College Apartment
ONEONTA – Two people residents were arrested by Oneonta Police after breaking into a college student’s apartment and stealing his belongings while he was away.
Courtney Griffin, 44, and Joanne Roberts. 54, both of Oneonta, allegedly broke into a college apartment on Main Street while the student was home after finals and stole over $3,000 worth of his property. “They took the TV, coffee maker, everything,” said Lt. Douglas Brenner. “He came back to pack up, and he saw the door had been kicked in and his stuff was gone.”
The two were charged with the burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor. If convicted of all charges, they each face 23 years incarceration.
