Man Broke Computer Screen
In Cruiser, State Police Report
ONEONTA – An Oneonta man was arrested after he allegedly hopped into a State Police patrol car and smashed his head into the vehicle’s computer screen.
On Saturday afternoon, a trooper had just finished gassing up his patrol vehicle on Route 23 when he observed Corey A. Maraglio, 34, Oneonta walking towards him. He said Maraglio appeared to be in a drug-induced state and rolled down the window to offer assistance.
Maraglio allegedly opened the door and jumped into the passenger seat, and refused initial orders to get out of the vehicle, according to the police report. When he did get out, the trooper handcuffed him and placed him in the front seat.
Maraglio then became very aggressive and struck his head twice on the patrol vehicle computer screen, breaking it, the report said. With the assistance of additional troopers, he was secured and transported to Fox Hospital.
He was arraigned in the Town of Oneonta court on the charges of the class D felony of criminal mischief second degree, the misdemeanor of resisting arrest and the violation of disorderly conduct. He was remanded to the Otsego County jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 property bond.
