IN MEMORIAM: Virginia M. Williams, 82;
Attended 1-Room School Near Cooperstown
STAMFORD – Cooperstown native Virginia Murdock Williams, 82, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb. 20, 2019.
She was born on Feb. 15, 1937, in Cooperstown, the youngest of four siblings, children of Carlton Murdock and Louise (Chase) Murdock.
Virginia grew up on a small farm just outside of Cooperstown, spending her girlhood helping around the farm and attending classes in a one-room schoolhouse.
On Sept. 3, 1954, Virginia married Robert H. Williams in Cooperstown, together they had five children; Jean (Sherman), Frank, Catherine (Curcio), Susan and Daniel.
Virginia was predeceased by her parents, sister Margaret, brothers Robert and Charles, daughter Jean and her loving husband and best friend Robert.
Surviving are her children; Frank and Sue Williams of Olympia, Wash., Catherine and S. Rock Curcio of Monroe, N.C., Susan Williams of Hanford, Calif.,and Daniel and Carrie Williams of Kodiak, Alaska. Also, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Stamford Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
