IN MEMORIAM: Vita Spaziani, 96;

Worked At Oneonta Dress Factory

ONEONTA – Vita Pinto Spaziani, 96, who worked for many years at the former Oneonta Dress Factory, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at home in Oneonta.

She was born on July 27, 1919, in Monopoli, Italy, the daughter of Carlo and Eugenia (Sardella) Pinto.  She married Angelo Spaziani on April 30, 1964.  He predeceased her in 1970.

She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.

She is survived by her nephews, Francesco Bagnardi and his son, Victor of Nokomis, Fla., Carl Bagnardi of Stamford, Frank Bagnardi of Oneonta, and many great nieces and nephews; a sister, Rosa Pinto Barletta of Italy; sister’s in law, Madeline Santos, and Connie Spaziani Basani; and step children, Mike and Julie Spaziani.

She was also predeceased by a sister, Luigia Bagnardi of Oneonta; five sisters in Italy; one brother Onofrio Pinto of Italy; stepdaughter, Paula Spaziani; and a stepson, John Spaziani.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. at Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St, Oneonta, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM with Rev. David Mickiewicz, officiating.

Burial will take place in the spring at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
